ハンバントータ地区
ハンバントタ地区はスリランカの南東海岸に位置しています。面積は 2,593 km² あり、ハンバントタは熱帯の雨と乾燥の気候を特徴とし、本当の乾季はありませんが、 1 月から3 月と6 月から8 月にかけて雨が大幅に少なくなります。最も激しい雨が降るのは10 月と11 月です。
地区の首都はハンバントタ町です。管理本部があり、塩生産の中心地でもある。他の有名な町には、タンガラ、アンバラントタ、ティッサマハーラーマ、ベリアッタなどがあります。
コロンボから約 240 km 離れたハンバントタは、大規模なインフラ開発が行われ、戦略的な港湾および商業の中心地への変革の真っ最中です。広大な砂浜に面したハンバントタは、近くの観光スポットを訪れるのに便利な場所です。
ハンバントタは、東西を結ぶ主要航路マラッカ通り/スエズ運河に最も近い場所に位置しています。ハンバントタに中国の太陽が昇りました。中国が資金を提供したハンバントタの巨大な新しい港湾が、2010 年 11 月の開港に向けて形を整えつつあります。
最新のエアバス A380 型機に対応する新しい空港がハンバントタで建設中であり、ハンバントタには国際クリケット スタジアムがあります。
スリランカ初の乾燥地帯にある植物園は、まもなく島内最大となる予定で、ハンバントタのミリジャウィラにある 300 エーカーの敷地で開発中です。この庭園は、ハンバントタ周辺地域の広大な緑地と生物多様性を保護することを目的としています。昔、ハンバントタはジャングルの中にある村でした。来年、ハンバントタは一夜にして近代発展の奇跡となるに違いない。
ハンバントタ地区に加えて、ティッサ湖、ティッサマハーラマ・ラジャ・マハ・ヴィハーラ、キリンダ・ヴィハーラ・マハ・デヴィ寺院、ヤタラ・ダラダ・ウェヘラ、ウィラウィラ・ティッサ保護区、キリンダ・ビーチ、フンマナヤ・ブローホール、ゴヤンボッカ・ビーチ、ウッサンゴダ国立公園、ムルギリガラなど、多くの観光名所があります。ラジャ マハ ヴィハラヤ、クダウェラ ビーチ、ヤーラ国立公園、ハンバンソタ港、マーテロ タワー。
